Oral Health Care Grants Awarded in Dakotas

HHS AWARDS $600,000 TO HELP HEALTH CENTERS EXPAND ACCESS TO ORAL HEALTH CARE IN THE DAKOTAS

 SIOUX FALLS, SD – Last month, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded over $85 million to 298 health centers, including Spectra Health in Grand Forks, ND and Horizon Health Care in Howard, SD, to expand their oral health service capacity. Spectra Health and Horizon Health Care both received $300,000 as a one-time investment to support physical and organizational infrastructure improvements.  READ MORE...

South Dakota Economic Impact Report

SOUTH DAKOTA’S COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS’ ECONOMIC IMPACT TOPS $91 MILLION

SIOUX FALLS, SD – South Dakota’s four Community Health Centers (CHCs) accounted for over $91 million in economic output in 2018, according to a new study prepared for the Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) by the Black Hills Knowledge Network. The report also highlighted the fact that South Dakota health centers made 966 jobs possible across the state, including 522 full- time jobs for South Dakotans who were employed directly by health centers in the growing and vibrant health care field.  READ MORE...

North Dakota Economic Impact Report

NORTH DAKOTA’S COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS’ ECONOMIC IMPACT TOPS $68 MILLION

SIOUX FALLS, SD – North Dakota’s Community Health Centers (CHCs) accounted for over $68 million ineconomic output in 2018, according to a new study prepared for the Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) by the Black Hills Knowledge Network. The report also highlighted the fact that North Dakota health centers made 643 jobs possible across the state, including 385 full-time jobs for North Dakotans who were employed directly by health centers in the growing and vibrant health care field. READ MORE…

Great Plains Health Data Network 

Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas and Wyoming Primary Care Association Awarded Grant to Form Great Plains Data Network
July 26, 2019 

SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) announces a partnership with the Wyoming Primary Care Association to form the Great Plains Health Data Network (GPHDN). The GPHDN is a collaboration that will harness the strength of the Health Center Controlled Networks (HCCN) program to support the technical capacity of some of the most remote and under-resourced health centers in the country. The GPHDN is made possible by a three-year grant awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), totaling $1.56 million over 3 years.  READ MORE…

North Dakota Enrollment Numbers Tracking, Could be Negatively Impacted by Shortened Sign-up Period

BISMARCK, N.D. – The Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) is partnering with community health centers and other health care groups across the state to let North Dakotans know they only have two more weeks to enroll in a 2018 health plan or review an existing plan to ensure they are receiving competitive prices and benefits. Open enrollment for 2018 health coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace began November 1 and concludes December 15, resulting in an enrollment period half as long as previous years.
