Becoming a CHC
Community Health Center (CHC) status is awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). Becoming a CHC is a competitive process under section 330 of the Public Health Services Act. CHCs are held to standards defined by the HRSA 19 key requirements in four main areas: Need, Services, Management and Finance, and Governance.
