The Financial Services Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing financial management services, including training and technical assistance (TA) through a network of Chief Financial Officers and Directors of Finance at the member community health centers (CHCs).
Through this networking effort, bi-monthly meetings, webinars, trainings, TA, on-site visits and email messages, CHAD offers financial support in the following areas:
- Creating financial reporting systems that efficiently monitor, analyze and report health center operations to Executive Management, its Board of Directors and federal authorities
- Grants management reporting
- Revenue cycle systems to help maximize health center patient revenue and manage patient accounts receivables
- Tracking Medicare and Medicaid changes
- Providing help with changes in policies and procedures for sliding fee scale programs as required by HRSA
- Facilitating meetings with state agencies ane third party insurance companies regarding reimbursement issues
- Identifying best practices for financial benchmarks including Uniform Data Services (UDS) reporting measures
